But do not worry because he still has several episodes to finish by the end of this year. A lot of Doctor Who fans are saddened because Tennant is leaving the show but still there is something to look out for because a new series will be aired in the Spring of 2010. Doctor Who Season 5 will surely be much anticipated by Doctor Who fans especially with a new Doctor on the show. There have been many speculations as to who will play the next Doctor. After several meetings, finally the eleventh Doctor will be played by Matt Smith. Matt Smith is 26 years old an English television and stage actor and he is so far the youngest actor to play the role of “the Doctor”. A lot of Doctor Who fans are excited and also hoping that the new Doctor will be as good as the last one or even better.

Aside from the excellent story line of the show, it is also well-known because of the excellent shift from one actor to the other playing the lead role. The ability of the Doctor to regenerate when he is injured includes changing appearance which is the perfect way to introduce a new actor for the lead role. BBC did not know that Doctor Who will be this successful and for sure they will still hold the longest running TV series title for a very long time.
