Several new toys and action figures have been introduced recently by the popular British TV series, Doctor Who.  These next generation Doctor Who toys are adjudged as appropriate and fitting for young people, especially as gifts for the holiday season.  This article will enumerate some of the new Doctor Who toys that can surely catch your fancy.

New_Doctor_Who_DaleksOne of the sets of new Doctor Who toys is the Daleks.  These are mutated creatures with grotesque appearances and are known for their catchphrase “EX-TER-MI-NATE!”.  These toys are as small as salt or pepper shakers we usually find in our kitchen.  One of the characteristics of Daleks is being free-wheeling.  They also possess full head, eye and arm movements.  A set of Daleks is comprised of 1 Dalek, 1 Dalek-Human hybrid, 1 pig slave and the doctor.  The size of these toys are 5″.

New_Doctor_Who_Tardis_PlaysetAnother new Doctor Who toy is the Tardis Playset, the time machine of the doctor.  This toy enables the doctor to travel to any era or space, be it in the past or in the present.  One distinct quality of this new Doctor Who toy is its size which is smaller on the outside than inside.  The miniature of this time machine contains switches and sounds.  The total number of sound and light combination in this toy is 13.  It also includes a ‘time rotor’.

The Cyberman Figure is incorporated with its Voice Changer Helmet.  This 1-foot tall Cyberman figure comes with 14 points of articulation.  Speech, sound effects and light features are also included in the Voice Changer Helmet.

The Electronic Sonic Screwdriver. This device has been particularly useful in opening the way to escape and exploration.  It also comes with a hidden UV pen.  Your secret writing can only be revealed with the use of UV light, which is also activated in this toy.

Doctor Who Action Figures

Due to the popularity of the Doctor Who TV show, Doctor Who action figures were created. The company, Character Options who were granted the license to produce Doctor Who merchandise in the year 2005, started to create 5 inches and 12 inches action figures. Fans of the Doctor Who TV show highly-appreciated the production of the Doctor who action figures.  In fact, in the year 2006 the action figures for Doctor Who received an award known as the Toy Retailers Association’s Boys Toy of the Year Award. Another good news was released by company where in they would be creating Doctor Who Classic action figures which were released in August of 2008.

Doctor Who action figures body parts and accessories can be changed or removed which makes it more exciting to play with. These action figures are also perfect as collectibles and memorabilias. Also, each action figure has an extra piece which is used to turn the toy into a K1 robot. The Doctor Who action figures consists of the different actors who played the character of “the Doctor”. Right now, Character Options has already released the 4th-10th Doctor Who action figures. Other action figures that were already released were Broton the Dragon, Sea Devil, SV-7 (Super Voc), D-84 (Dum Class), Magnus Greel and Mr Sin, Ice Warrior, Cyberdr-who-action-figureman and many others.

Doctor Who TV show is well-known in the UK. It is the longest running TV show in the world which started in the year 1964 and successfully showing up to this year. The TV show was produced by BBC and the TV show’s story is all about the character known as “the Doctor”, a mysterious alien who is time-travelling. Doctor Who is already a part of the British culture and every episode is highly-anticipated by its audience.
